Dental Equipment Market Size, Share & Trends Analysis | Europe | 2019-2025 | MedSuite | Includes: Dental Treatment Center Units, Dental Handpieces, Curing Lights, Dental Scalers, Intraoral Cameras, Caries Detection Devices & Dental Autoclaves
In 2019, the European dental equipment market size was valued at €907 million, which is projected to grow over the forecast period and reach over $913 million in 2025. The saturation of the marketplace in most segments increased competitiveness and has had a negative impact on the average selling prices. The presence of smaller competitors […]

Several spinal fixation systems exist for stabilizing the spine so that bony fusion can be achieved. The majority of these fixation systems use rods that attach to screws that are threaded into the vertebral bodies or the pedicles. In some cases, plate fixation systems are also used to fuse two adjacent vertebral segments. Current plate fixation systems are designed to function in place of rods and screws, with the advantage of allowing fixation without the need to contour a long rod across multiple segments.

Spinal endoscopy can be selected for a number of reasons, including observing epidural anatomy and pathology, targeted epidural delivery of drugs and the illumination and visualization of tissues of the epidural space in the spine for assisting diagnosis. More commonly, however, spinal endoscopy is used as a minimally invasive approach to discectomies, laminectomies and foraminotomies.
Spine endoscopes are visualization instruments that allow for a minimally invasive approach to various procedures and resemble other arthroscope and laparoscope devices. By allowing direct visualization into the spinal canal, these endoscopes facilitate the investigation of nerve compression, inflammation, scarring or abnormalities in the spinal space.
MIS Pedicle Screws Market Analysis | United States | 2019-2025 | MedCore
Pedicle screws provide a means of stabilizing a spinal level during a fusion procedure. The screws themselves do not fixate the levels, but act as firm anchor points that can then be connected with a rod. Pedicle screws can be placed at two or more consecutive spine levels. A short rod is subsequently implanted in order to connect the screws. The screw and rod construct prevents motion at the levels that are being fused.

Spinal instrumentation is used to stabilize the spine and carry out the procedure during minimally invasive spinal procedures. One major focus is lessening the pressure put on the spine until successful fusion has occurred. This ensures that bone growth does not occur in a way which further impedes proper movement, and that growth is as efficient as possible. Many of the same instruments used in standard spinal fusion may be used here.

The purpose of spinal fusion is to grow one or more vertebral bodies together to form a fused bone in order to treat certain pathologies. Plates, posterior fixation devices and interbody devices exist to help stabilize the spine while it fuses and heals. Traditionally, these devices have been implanted through open surgery; however, a growing number of these devices are being implanted using minimally invasive surgery (MIS) techniques. MIS greatly reduces surgical damage to the patient and is much less invasive than an open procedure. MIS for spinal fusion is made possible by complex and innovative surgical technology, allowing implantation of posterior screw/rod and interbody devices with minimal surgical damage or harm to the patient.

Electrical stimulation devices are used for stimulating bone growth after a spinal fusion procedure. Spinal electrical bone growth stimulators are often used as an adjunct therapy in order to increase the chance of a successful solid spinal fusion. In the United States, electrical stimulation devices are designed specifically for lumbar and cervical fusions. However, some lumbar devices have historically been used off-label to augment the healing process for cervical fusion procedures.

Shoulder devices are considered a small joint in this report; however, they are sometimes classified as large joints because they are often marketed in a similar manner to hip and knee implants, but have historically exhibited market revenue growth rate similar to devices for the distal extremities.
Shoulder reconstruction devices discussed in this report include: total shoulder implants, reversed-shoulder implants, partial shoulder implants and shoulder implant revisions.
Small Bone and Joint Orthopedic Devices Procedure Volume Analysis | United States | 2019-2025 | MedPro
The full report suite on the U.S. market for small bone and joint orthopedic devices includes shoulder reconstruction devices, elbow repair devices, hand & wrist devices and foot & ankle devices. This report also includes plate & screw devices, staple fixation devices and external fixation devices markets.

The shoulder is a highly mobile joint that is also inherently unstable to allow for range of motion. This joint is anchored by muscular attachment to the spine in the back and to the sternum (breastbone) through the clavicle (collarbone). The shoulder is not involved in direct load bearing articulation with the axial skeleton.

Plates are like internal splints that hold the broken pieces of bone together. They are attached to the bone with screws. Plates may be left in place after healing is complete, or they may be removed
Screws are used for internal fixation more often than any other type of implant. Although the screw is a simple device, there are different designs based on the type of fracture and how the screw will be used. Screws come in different sizes for use with bones of different sizes. Screws can be used alone to hold a fracture, as well as with plates, rods, or nails. After the bone heals, screws may be either left in place or removed.
